processing method:
Folding heat treatment
Recommended heat treatment temperatures: normalizing 850, quenching 840, tempering 600.
No. 45 steel is a high quality carbon structural steel with low hardness and easy cutting. It is often used in dies and dies.
Template, tip, guide column, etc., but must be heat treated.
The hardness of 1.45 steel is higher than HRC55 (up to HRC62) before quenching and tempering.
The highest hardness in practical application is HRC55 (high frequency quenching HRC58).
No. 2.45 steel should not be heat treated by carburizing and quenching.
After the quenching and tempering, the parts have good comprehensive mechanical properties. They are widely used in motorcycles and cars, especially those working in the alternating load, such as connecting rod, bolt, gear and shaft and so on. It should bear huge friction in the work, and usually adopt the quenching method to improve its hardness, wear resistance and service life. . The common quenching equipment for No. 45 steel is as follows:
Folding carburizing treatment
Generally used for surface wear resistance, core impact resistance of heavy-duty parts, its wear resistance than quenching and tempering + surface quenching high. Its surface carbon content is 0.8-1.2%, the core is generally 0.1-0.25% (in special cases, 0.35%). After heat treatment, the surface can obtain high hardness (HRC58-62), core hardness is low, impact resistance.
If 45 steel is carburized, hard and brittle martensite will appear in the core after quenching, thus losing the advantages of carburizing treatment. At present, the carburized materials are not high in carbon content, and the core strength of 0.30% can reach a high level, which is rarely used. 0.35% had never seen an example, only in the textbook. The process of quenching and tempering plus high frequency surface hardening can be adopted, and the wear resistance is slightly worse than that of carburizing.
